Amruta Khanvilkar is a Sagittarian who was born on 23rd November 1984 in Pune, India. Her parents are Raju and Gauri and she has a younger sister, Aditi.

Amruta Khanvilkar lost on the television show Zee Cine Star Ki Khoj and started working in Marathi movies like Golmaal and Saade Maade Teen.

Amuruth Khanwelkar continued to be seen on television in shows like Ekapeksha Ek, a dance based Marathi show; as an anchor on Comedy Express and as Anu Prakash in the television serial Time Bomb (2005).

In 2007 she acted in Mumbai Salsa with other new faces like Vir Das and Manjari Phadnis. Amuruth Khanwelkar was seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s Contract (2008). The story which was around terrorism was panned by critics and audience alike.Amuruth Khanwelkar worked with Varma again in the supernatural flick Phoonk (2008) which was a moderate success.
Career

Amruta was a part of “Zee a talent hunt show which was aired on Zee TV in 2004. Ranked third in the Talent Hunt contest, she went on to star in Sahara One's TV Series Ada followed by series Time Bomb 9/11. Amuruth Khanwelkar also anchored daily "Bollywood tonight" which aired on Zee Music.

Subsequently she began her career in Marathi films starting with Golmaal (marathi film) in 2006 . She was the leading lady of the Marathi film Saade Maade Teen (2007) which was produced by Zee Talkies and is one of the highest grossing Marathi films .Amuruth Khanwelkar was also a part of the Marathi dance based reality show, Ekapeksha Ek,where she proved her mettle as a great dancer.

Amuruth Khanwelkar currently hosts the program, Comedy Express, on ETV-Marathi.

Amruta has also worked in several Hindi films such as Mumbai Salsa, HatTrick, Contract and Phoonk.

Amuruth Khanwelkar was last seen performing a lavani "Wajle ki Bara" in the film Natarang (Marathi). The song is one of the highlights of the movie. Amuruth Khanwelkar used to live in kothrud pune.
