5' 4 1/2" tall, Bombay girl, Maliaka Arora's sister, Amrita Arora was born on January 31st, 1981. She started her career as a model and then appeared in music videos. She was featured in ads for Ponds, Elle 18, After Smoke, and Sunsilk fruitiness. She is now most famous for hosting MTV House full and MTV Chillout on MTV India. Her first debut film was Kitne Door Kitne Paas. Her good looks and light skin were popular for casting directors looking for the next new face to promote in the commercial cinema of boy meeting girl. Arora had a Christian wedding ceremony with boyfriend, Shakeel Ladak on 4 March 2009 and also had a traditional Muslim nikaah. Reportedly due to her pregnancy, she was dropped from UTV's film, Season's Greetings. She gave birth to a baby boy named Azaan on 5 February 2010.

2002 Amrita Arora’s first movie was Kitne Door Kitne Paas opposite Fardeen Khan. Her second movie, a comedy based on The Whole Nine Yards called Awara Paagal Deewana, was more successful. She played Mona, a nagging wife.

2003 Her only release in 2003 was David Dhawan’s Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, apart from an appearance in a song in the movie Zameen.

2004 The year 2004 saw her in Shart: The Challenge, Girlfriend, a special appearance in Mujhse Shaadi Karoge and Rakht: What If You Can See the Future. Girlfriend caused a stir owing to an onscreen lesbian relationship between her character and the one played by Isha Koppikar.

2006 Her movies Raakh, Deha and Fight Club – Members Only were average.

2007 Her releases in 2007 came and went without any impact like Red: The Dark Side, Speed and Godfather. She also shook a leg in a song in Heyy Baby and then again in Om Shanti Om.

Amrita made her Bollywood debut opposite Fardeen Khan in flop film Kitne Door Kitne Paas. She followed her forgettable debut with Vikram Bhatt s Awara Paagal Deewana in which she was reduced to playing a glam doll but the song 'Dilli ki sardi' was an eye-opener for the film industry people towards her.

The hazel eyed beauty courted controversy much before her first release. Rumors linked her to a crop of stars, from crooner Kamal Khan to Fardeen Khan and Salman Khan. Recently, she made news when her controversial flick Girlfriend opposite Isha Koppikar got released. The movie based on lesbian relationships bombed at the box office, but Amrita looked sizzling hot in it.

A typical family person, Amrita admires her mom and is extremely fond of her sister and wants to follow her footsteps.
