Aruna Irani Detailed Biography.

This blog post is about Aruna Irani Detailed Biography.
Aruna Irani (Hindi: अरुणा ईरानी, Urdu: اَرُنا ایرانی) is an Indian actress. An accomplished actress and dancer of her time, Aruna Irani has acted in about 300 movies, with many memorable acting performances to her credit. Irani is the sister of film-maker Indra Kumar and actor Adi Irani (one who became her son in movie Beta). She is married to film director Kuku Kohli.
rani made her debut in the movie Gunga Jumna (1961) at nine years old playing Vyjayantimala's character as a child. After doing several small roles in films like Jahanara (1964), Farz (1967), Upkar (1967) and Aaya Sawan Jhoomke (1969), and pairing with comedian Mehmood in films like Aulad (1968), Humjoli (1970), and Naya Zamana (1971), she finally shot to fame with her brilliant performance as an aggressive gypsy woman in the super hit Caravan (1971). By that time, however, she was emotionally involved with Mehmood and did not focus fully on her career. Their relationship also ruined the chances of her getting the heroine's roles. Yet, Mehmood gave her lead roles opposite the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Mehra in the films that he made: Bombay To Goa (1972), Garam Masala (1972), and Do Phool (1973).

The success as a heroine still eluded her, and ironically, the newer actors and actresses that she supported became stars while acting with her: Jeetendra in Farz(1967), Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in Bobby (1973), Jayaprada in Sargam (1979), Kumar Gaurav in Love Story (1981), Sanjay Dutt in Rocky (1981). She ended up doing vampish and supporting roles, mainly because her memorable performance in Caravan had already typecast her in such roles. To her credit, however, Aruna Irani seriously took each role and delivered nice performances, thus endearing herself to filmmakers and creating a niche for herself.
PERSONAL LIFE
She was born in 3rd may 1952 and later at a young age made her debut in the movie Ganga Jamuna in 1961. Aruna is sister of film director Indra Kumar and is married to Kuku Kohli who is also a film director. She acted in several movies like Jahanara (1964), Farz (1967), Upkar (1967) and Aaya Sawan Jhoomke (1969), and pairing with comedian Mehmood in films like Aulad (1968), Humjoli (1970), and Naya Zamana (1971). As time passed she was emotionally in touch with Mehmood and did not concentrate much in the movies and the actors and actresses who worked with her went ahead to greater heights and made their career.

When Archana Kavi finished her Class 12 exams she told her parents she wanted to stay in a hostel and experience freedom and independence. Her parents, the Delhi-based senior journalist Jose Kavi and his wife Rosamma decided to send her to the Mar Augustinose College, in Ramapuram to do a Bachelor of Business Administration course. The college had an attached hostel: the Carmel Jyothi.

In 2006 Archana moved from Delhi to Ramapuram. And the shift was not easy.

“I knew Malayalam very well because my parents insisted we speak the language at home all the time,” she says. “However, I had trouble communicating with my classmates.” And, unfortunately, there was the erroneous notion among the other students that the girls who were brought up in Delhi or Mumbai were of a loose character.

“I was just a normal kid,” she says.

An unfazed Archana concentrated hard on her studies. One day, feeling bored, Archana, who had been the house and culture captain at St. Xavier’s School in Delhi and had been deeply involved in theatre, music and dance, applied for a job at the Indiavision television channel.

She was selected and every weekend she would go to Kochi and assist in the production of certain programmes. After a year she got a job to anchor a show, ‘Bloody Love’ on Indiavision’s youth channel, ‘YES’.

Director Lal Jose saw her on this programme and in March, 2009, he called Archana for an audition for the remake of ‘Neelathamara’. This film has created history because it is the first time in the Malayalam film industry that a movie is being remade. M T Vasudevan Nair, who had penned the script for the earlier film, which was released in 1979, has written for this one also.

During the interview, both Lal Jose and M T were impressed by Archana. “I liked her energy,” says Lal Jose. “She was smart and passionate about cinema.” But the role was a difficult one. Archana would have to play a servant girl, Kunjimallu, set in an ancestral home in a village. “I was apprehensive because of Archana’s modern way of talking and body language,” says Lal Jose. “She also does not know to read and write Malayalam.” Archana says she had some idea of the character. “I used to spend my annual holidays at my grandmother’s home in Kannur,” she says. “I have seen my aunts milking the cow, sweeping the courtyard, and cooking in the kitchen, all the tasks which Kunjimallu does. I just lacked practical knowledge.” The tipping point for Lal Jose came when he saw Archana in make-up and costume. “She looked perfect for the part,” he says.

When Archana was selected her parents went through a bout of introspection.

“We were apprehensive about our daughter taking up acting as a career,” says Jose Kavi. “However, our fears were allayed when family friends who knew Lal Jose told us he was a no-nonsense person on the set.” But for Kavi what was most thrilling was that M T had written the script. “It is a privilege for my daughter to act in his films,” he says.

The film was shot over a 50-day period at Kuttipuram, 50 kms south of Kozhikode.

“Kunjimalu is a person who does not talk much,” says Archana. “If she is happy or sad it is within her. She rarely expresses it.” She is grateful to Lal Jose for describing in precise detail what the character was going through in a particular scene.

Asked on the tips on acting that Lal Jose imparted to her, Archana says, “He told me to react, and not act. In any situation, just behave normally. If you try to act, it will become obvious. When I walk, and if I think I am performing, it will come across as artificial. So you have to forget that there is a camera recording your every move and the presence of numerous people and immerse yourself in the scene.” And Lal Jose has been happy with the end result. “Archana has an in-born talent,” he says. “She amazed me with her high concentration levels and remarkable memory.” The director had read out the script only once to Archana and she had memorised all the scenes. “She always knew what the next scene was going to be,” says Lal Jose.

Jose Kavi says his daughter is a determined child. “Once she sets her eyes on something she will work hard to achieve it,” he says.

At Kochi, at a friend’s place, sans make-up, clad in a T-shirt and jeans, Archana looks like any ordinary young girl having the time of her life. However, she is keeping her fingers crossed that when the film releases in October her acting will click with the audience.

“If not I can always try journalism,” she says. “Like films, it is another way of telling stories.”

Ankita Lokhande Detailed Biography.

This blog post is about Ankita Lokhande Detailed Biography.
Ankita Lokhande born as, "Tanuja" in Indore, India, is an Indian television actor best known for playing the role of Archana in Pavitra Rishta. She was born on 19 December 1986 in Indore. Her favorite color is WHITE and baby pink. She was a part of Zee cinestars ki khoj and also earned many accolades from directors such as mahesh manjrekar, satish kaushik. She was supposedly to begin her tv career with "baali umar ko salaam" with jai soni, but that serial got dropped due to some reason. She,then, began her television career by playing the role of Archana in Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV. Currently she is playing the main lead Archana in the famous Balaji Telefilms serial Pavitra Rishta opposite Sushant Singh Rajput on Zee TV.
Family background and brief biography of Ankita Lokhande:

She is from a Maharashtrian family. She born and brought up in Indore. When she decided to take acting as career her parents were quite reluctant but she succeeded in convincing them and later started getting support from them. She moved to Mumbai in year 2005 but she got big break only in June 2009 in Pavitra Rishta.

She is a high quality dancer. Some time last year she performed on Zee TV‘s live show and I think her fans won’t forget it for long time (I have attached that video at the bottom of this page). Many times because of her decent acting, people say she is Vidya Balan of small screen. Many times we see that small screen actors lack fun part (at least that’s the perception) but Ankita Lokhande is filled with fun, a sample of her sense of humor can be seen in one of the video below.

She became popular when she took up the lead role in Zee TV’s number one serial Pavitra Rishta. In this top serial she plays a role of Archana Deshmukh. She grabbed this opportunity with both the hands and proved that she is an excellent actress with lot of temperament. This show is one year old now but still gaining popularity and Ankita is definitely main reason for that. In this show her partner is Sushant Singh who acted in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil before Pavitra Rishta.

Recently many press reports talked about Ankita’s relationship with Sushant and claimed that they are in love in real life as well. Though they did not say anything in that regard, this couple made enough statements to give press a chance to speak. Is it real love or publicity funda we don’t know yet.
Career as television actress:

Before working on Pavitra Rishta she struggled a lot to get a decent break. But she was fully prepared for that and it paid. Earlier she was supposed to act in Jay Mehta’s ‘Bali Umar Ko Salaam’, she did the promos also but later Ankita did not continued with it. As that was not for the lead role Ankita Lokhande do not regret for it.

Kaitrina Kaif Detailed Biography

This blog post is about Kaitrina Kaif Detailed Biography.
Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship. Her mother is now re-settled in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), the Capital of the state of Tamil Nadu in India.

She spent subsequent years in Hawaii, and then in London, Britain, She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelry campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.

Continuing to model was the reason she got her break in a Bollywood movie 'Boom' offered by none other than film-maker Kaizad Gustad.

She was flooded with modeling assignments the minute she set her foot on Indian soil, especially with her innocent expressive face, hour-glass figure, and drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet. It was the Lakme commercial that got her noticed. She retained Matrix as her Manager to accept work on her behalf and at the price she deserved.

Moving to different culture and country was not much of a culture shock for her, as she states that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared for.

Despite of her positive attitude, she had been stereotyped as "Indian" by extreme right-wingers in Britain who made it clear that she did not quite fit-in with their "Blonde" Caucasian culture; while on the other hand in India itself she had been ranked as an 'outsider' very much like Sonia Gandhi.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

Although linguistically challenged, Katrina puts on a bold face and states that other Bollywood artistes like Sridevi, who did not know Hindi, did get offers from Bollywood film-makers, and she is no different. She has taken Hindi and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dancing where she used to dance 7 hours a day non-stop.

Adorned with soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily intimidated, but admits that she is very emotional, sensitive, and concerned about her privacy, Almost an incurable romantic, she prefers to wear comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. Admitting to being lonely in the beginning, but now has several friends who she can hang out with.

Although her first movie 'Boom' was panned by the critics and shunned by the audiences, two other Telugu movies 'Malliswari' and 'Pidugu' did get her noticed. She grossed 70 Lakh Rupees for 'Malliswari' - making her top the list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian movie debut.

Not done with South Indian movies, she has been signed in a Tamil movie 'Bheema' opposite National Award Winner Vikram.

She has received decent reviews for her part in "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya", as well as a brief appearance in 'Sarkar'.

Katrina had made Mumbai her base, didn't mind singing and dancing around trees and as a result is now one of the biggest mega-stars, perhaps one of the highest paid female-lead actresses in Bollywood, and a crowd-puller whenever she makes an appearance for a live song and dance number.
